Rohit Sharma Sent 'Common Sense' Reminder After Reports Of Him Replacing KL Rahul In Boxing Day Test Surface

India are all set to take on Australia in the 4th Test of the five-match series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the much-awaited Boxing Day Match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26. This is a must-wi game for India in order to qualify fidirectly for the final of the World Test Championship (2025). Hence, there are reports that they are srt to make some changes in their playing XI while also shuffling their batting order. Rohit Sharma is reportedly returning to open the innings, replacing KL Rahul. This reported move has been criticized by former India star Dodda Ganesh.
In a post on his X account, Dodda Ganesh said that is it not the right thing to change the opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. He emphasized that Rahul has looked good at the top, and hence hoped that common sense prevails as cricket is a team game.
"Is there going to be a change in the opening pair? If so, it’s not the right thing to do. KL Rahul has looked very good at the top. Hope common sense prevails; and let’s not forget, cricket is a team game," Ganesh tweeted.

Rohit Sharma Remained Tight-Lipped

In the press conference ahead of the start of the game, Rohit Sharma remained tight-lipped when asked about the change in the batting order. He sad that they will set the order according to what is best for the team.
"Let’s not worry about who bats where. Something that we need to figure and not something I would be discussing here. . We will do what is best for the team," Rohit said.

Shubman Gill, Nitish Reddy Out?

There have been reports which have started that Shubman Gill might drop down lower down the order in case KL Rahul drops down to no.3. In fact, Gill might be dropped entirely in favour of Dhruv Jurel. Keeping in mind the conditions in Melbourne, India might play Washington Sundar in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy.
