After India's batting once again collapsed in the Gabba Test, a viral video of Gautam Gambhir doing shadow practice in the dressing room went viral on social media. During a rain break on the third day of play (December 16), the TV cameras spotted Gambhir picking up the bat and seemingly a player on the technique of leaving a delivery.

India's first innings at the Gabba Test has proven a nightmare so far with the bat, as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant departed for single-digit scores while Rohit Sharma departed after making 10 runs. However, a solid knock of 84 from KL Rahul and a fine knock from Ravindra Jadeja have given India a chance to follow on.

Fans were quick to take notice of Gambhir's shadow practice and came up with some hilarious responses. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli faced heat following their poor run of form.

Since Gambhir took over the top job, India's batting has struggled in the longest format of the game and managed to cross 400 just twice, with neither coming in a first innings. The team has been bowled out for less than 200 in seven of the team's 14 outings in the period.

The form of Rohit and Virat in this period has been a point of particular concern. Since the Bangladesh series in September, Rohit has made just 152 runs in 13 innings with just one half-century and an average of 11.69. Meanwhile, Virat has 318 runs in 15 innings at an average of 24.46 with one century and half a century each.

Gambhir was one of India's finest Test openers with 4154 runs in 58 matches and nine centuries. He won the ICC Test Player of the Year award in 2009.

The 43-year-old replaced Rahul Dravid as India's head coach earlier this year.
