India are currently taking on Australia in the fourth Test of the five-match series in the much-anticipated Boxing Day match. Day 1 ended with Australia on top. As usual, it was Jasprit Bumrah who was the star of the show for India as they picked up 6 wickets on the first day. Bumrah even managed to silence Travis Head, who has been a nightmare for India across all formats in recent times. Bumrah, with his great performance in the first Test , has created history by becoming the first Indian to achieve a massive feat.
Jasprit Bumrah, after being hammered by debutant Sam Konstas in his initial spell, came back with a bang. In fac, he picked up the dangerous Travis Head, who slammed two centuries in the last two Tests of the series, for a 7-ball duck. Head left a ball which was swinging into him. However, it proved to be a misjudgment as the ball rattled his stumps.
Jasprit Bumrah, thus became the first Indian bowler to dismiss Travis Head for a duck in international cricket history.

Bumrah Stars For India On Day 1

Jasprit Bumrah did not have the best of starts on Day 1 of the 4th Test. 19-year-old debutant Sam Konstas took the world no.1 bowler to the cleaners hitting him for multiple boundaries, and even two sixes. However, despite the hammering, Bumrah came back to his best when he came to bowl his second spell. He bowled four consecutive maidens, before picking up the three important wickets of Usman Khawaja, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh.
He finished with figures of 3/75 from 21 overs at the end of Day 1.
Overall Australia scored 311/6 at Stumps on Day 1. Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith slammed half-centuries. Bumrah led the charge for India with three wickets, while Akash Deep, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja scalped 1 wicket each.
