Former India cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri found himself in the midde of a storm during the third day of play in the second Test match between India and New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for an on-air comment for the host broadcaster.
Just minutes after India started their second innings and with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal on strike, the cameras caught a fan eating ice-cream in the stands. Both Shastri and co-commentator Sunil Gavaskar were quick to take notice and passed some cheeky remarks.
"It is hot. You really need that ice cream. But someone is hiding behind. He is a big unit. Where is the ice-cream boy?," said Shastri.
"He is actually hiding it. Because someone in his family must have told him that you should not be eating ice-cream," Gavaskar added.
However, fans were not happy with the comment and made their feeling public after the video went viral on social media.
