The Indian cricket team created history in the first Test match against New Zealand on the third of play and achieved a huge feat which has never be done before in the 147-year-old history of the game. Virat Kohli's stunning six of Ajaz Patel ensured the hosts completed a unique milestone.
As Kohli turned back the clock, stepped on the front foot and smashed Patel over the long-on boundary, India became the first team in the world to hit 100 sixes in a calender year. The two-time World Test Championship (WTC) finalist have had a year to remember with the bat and broken numerous records.
In the home series against England earlier this year, Rohit's men smashed a stunning tally over 72 sixes with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge with 26 maximums. The home side continued the momentum against Bangladesh with their record-breaking effort in the Kanpur Test helping their cause.
