Cricketer Ihsanullah, who had previously announced his retirement from after being snubbed in the HBL PSL 10 draft, has now retracted his decision, acknowledging his emotional reaction, Express News reported.
The young fast bowler, who represented Multan Sultans in the previous HBL PSL season, had made headlines by boycotting the league and announcing his retirement after no team selected him in the recent draft.
Reflecting on his hasty announcement, Ihsanullah shared in an interview, "I had hoped that a team would pick me, but when that didn't happen, I was emotionally charged. Many fans, friends, and supporters reached out with kind messages, which made me reconsider my earlier decision."
The 21-year-old clarified that he was retracting his retirement and would put in extra effort over the next few months. He vowed to work hard enough to earn his place in the team, saying, "I will train for the next four months and prove to those who overlooked me that I deserve a spot in the team."
Earlier in the morning, Ihsanullah had announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after being snubbed in the HBL PSL 10 draft. He also made it clear that he will no longer participate in the competition, citing frustration over being ignored by franchises.
"I’ve decided to retire from the PSL. I don’t want to play franchise cricket anymore. It’s over for me after today," Ihsanullah declared. "I won’t be seen in the PSL again. My goal now is to represent Pakistan through domestic cricket, not through the PSL," said pacer.
