The Indian women's cricket team is hosting the Ireland women's team in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series in Rajkot. India didn't make any change in the playing XI and retained the winning combination for the fixture. Vice-captain Deepti Sharma etched her name in history books after being retained in the playing XI and she created a huge record.
Deepti has become only the second Indian women's cricketer to play 100 ODIs and as many T20Is. The star all-rounder has played 124 T20Is and she is featuring in her 100th ODI for the Women in Blue.
Harmanpreet Kaur was the first Indian to achieve this milestone. The India captain has played 178 T20Is and 141 ODIs. There are few Indian players who have played more than 100 games in at least one format.
Mithali Raj is the most-capped Indian women's player in ODIs. She played 232 ODIs. She is followed by Jhulan Goswami (204), Harmanpreet (141), Anjum Chopra (127) and Amita Sharma (116).
Harmanpreet tops the list of Indians to play most women's T20Is. She is followed by Smriti Mandhana (148), Deepti (124) and Jemimah Rodrigues (107). But only Harmanpreet and Deepti have played more than 100 games in two formats.
Deepti made her India debut in an ODI against South Africa in 2014. Her T20I debut came in January 2016. She has emerged as one of the best all-rounders since her debut.
The star all-rounder has 2143 runs and 124 wickets in 100* ODIs. Deepti has 1086 runs and 138 wickets in 124 T20Is. Deepti's on-field success saw her become part of the leadership group and she is assisting Smriti in the ongoing series against Ireland.
Deepti has also made a name for herself in foreign leagues and she is one of the most sought-after all-rounders. She has played in the Women's Hundred and the Big Bash League.
