Yashasvi Jaiswal has been enjoying a purple patch since his international cricket debut and there is no stopping him. The left-handed batsman kicked off his Test career with a century against West Indies. In June 2024, Yashasvi became an ICC trophy winner when India defeated South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Yashasvi has 4 centuries in Test cricket and one ton in T20Is. He is yet to play ODI cricket and can soon be rewarded with a place in the 50-over team. Yashasvi is all but confirmed to play the upcoming five-match T20I series against England. He could be named in the ODI team too.
Yashasvi, who will continue to open the innings in T20Is, is set to create history. He can become the fastest Indian batsman to score 1000 runs in the shortest format. The left-handed batsman has scored 723 runs in 22 innings across 23 games.
Yashasvi is just 277 runs away from completing 1000 T20I runs. Should he reach the milestone in his next four innings, Yashasvi will break Virat Kohli's record and become the fastest Indian to do so. If he takes five innings, then he will equal Virat's record.

KL Rahul sits at the second spot in the list of Indians to score the fastest 1000 T20I runs. He took 29 innings to reach the four-figure mark. England's Dawid Malan tops the overall list (among full member nations). He reached the 1000-run mark in 24 innings.
Yashasvi, who made his T20I debut in 2023, has batted with a solid strike rate of 164.32 in T20Is. Rajasthan Royals retained him for Rs 18 crore before the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
