Star England opening batter Ben Duckett continued his brilliant run of form in Test cricket on the second day of play in the second Test match against Pakistan on Wednesday (October 16) at the Multan Cricket Stadium with a brilliant ton in the first innings.
After Pakistan put up a competitive score of 366 on the board, Duckett gave England a rapid start to put the pressure back on the opposition bowlers. The 29-year-old completed the fourth Test century of his career and reached the milestone in just 120 balls.
Duckett finished with a knock of 114 in just 129 balls before being dismissed by Sajid Khan. After the left-hander's dismissal, the England batting unit collapsed from 224-3 to 225-6. The visitors finished the day at 239-6 and trail the hosts by 127 runs
Ben Duckett Creates History
Duckett wrote his name in the history books through the course of his knock by completing 2000 runs in his Test career. The English star has become the quickest player in the history of the longest format to reach the milestone in terms of balls faced.

Duckett made his Test debut for England in 2016 against Bangladesh but only became a regular member of the side after Ben Stokes' appointment as captain in 2022. Overall, he has played 28 matches so far and scored 2026 runs with four tons at an average of 42.20.
Among players with more than 2000 Test runs in history, no one has a better strike rate (87.13) than Duckett.
