'Thought He Was Little Too Subdued': Former India Head Coach Questions Rohit Sharma's Body Language

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has said that Rohit Sharma's body language was a little subdued during the Adelaide Test and it might have been because of the sudden change in the batting lineup which didn't suit him at all. Not just Shastri, but several experts have suggested that Rohit didn't have the requisite assertiveness to win a crucial Test.
Australia equalised the series 1-all with a comprehensive 10-wicket win against India within three days of the pink ball game on Sunday, December 8.
Shastri said that Rohit should return to his opening position to ensure that he has enough confidence while batting and can produce better results with the bat.
"Thought he was a little too subdued, just seeing his body language. That's the reason I want him at the top. That's where he can be aggressive and expressive. I just wanted to see him more involved and a little more involved," Shastri said while speaking on Star Sports.
Rohit and ace India batter Virat Kohli's never-ending technical problems against both pace and spin have set the alarm bells ringing as Indian batters capitulated twice in just 81 overs to lose the 'pink ball' Test against Australia by a comprehensive 10-wicket margin on the third day in Adelaide.
It was a tale of two shoddy batting efforts with the two senior-most players Rohit and Kohli looking well past their best. Ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah gave it all but lacked a potent bowling partner at the other end.
For Rohit, things are getting difficult as he now has lost the last four Tests that he has led and that has drawn criticism from numerous experts.
In his last six Tests, Rohit has batted in 12 innings with just one fifty in Bengaluru. The sole other knocl where he crossed the 20-run mark is the 11-ball-23 cameo in Kanpur against Bangladesh.
