India are all set to host Bangladesh in the second T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The hosts are leading the three match T20I series 1-0 and could seal the series with a win in Delhi.
Riding on a stupendous bowling display, India thrashed Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first T20I. Arshdeep Singh continued to make waves in the shortest format as he was the pick of the Indian bowlers with a three wicket haul.
The Punjab Kings bowler is on the brink of breaking Jasprit Bumrah’s record. India’s premier pacer has taken 89 wickets in the shortest format and Arshdeep needs just four wickets to overtake Bumrah as he currently has 86 wickets in his tally.
He can also surpass Bhuvneshwar Kumar with a five wicket haul and can become the most successful Indian pacer in the T20Is. Yuzvendra Chahal currently holds the record of being the highest Indian wicket taker in T20I with 90 wickets.
Hardik Pandya who is also taking part in the ongoing series will also have the chance to get past both Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar as he has so far has 87 scalps to his name.
Both Hardik and Arshdeep played a crucial role as India ended their long wait for an ICC title when they lifted the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement after India's triumph at the ICC event.
