India are currently taking on England in the third T20I of the five-match series at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The Men in Blue are looking to seal a win in this match to get an unassailable 3-0 lead and earn a series victory with two more matches to go. One of the players who India were looking forward to for getting this important victory was their lead spinner Varun Chakravarthy. He delivered what was exactly required of him as he continued his brilliant form.
Varun Chakravarthy ripped the England batting lineup apart as he picked up 5 wickets for 24 runs in his four overs. Coming into the third T20I, Chakravarthy had already picked up 5 wickets in the series; picking three in the first and 2 in the second game respectively. The spinner now has 10 wickets in this series.
Chakravarthy now becomes the first player in history to take 10 wickets in a single bilateral T20I series between India and England.
Varun Chakravarthy picked up the wickets of Jos Buttler, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer. He becomes the third Indian player to take more than one five-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game.
