After this poor performance, there have been reports that the BCCI have issued an informal diktat to Indian players wherein they would need to play domestic cricket to be available for selection. After this, even Rohit Sharma was seen practicing with the Mumbai side, and might make a return to play in the Ranji Trophy after 10 years. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill have also confirmed their availability. Now another member of India's Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad has confirmed that he will play the mega tournament.
According to a report by The Indian Express, Yashasvi Jaiswal has made himself available for the Ranji Trophy 2024 for the Mumbai side for their next match against Jammu and Kashmir from January 23. He has officially told Mumbai coach Omkar Salvi of his availability.
“He has informed Mumbai coach Omkar Salvi that he is available for the next round of the Ranji Trophy. The selection committee will pick the Mumbai team in the coming days,” an MCA official told the publication.
