The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has revealed that South African top-order batter Rassie van der Dussen will participate in the highly anticipated draft for the league's 10th edition.
The announcement was made on the official PSL social media channels, showcasing a video compilation of van der Dussen’s best shots to highlight his skill and form.

At 35, van der Dussen is a key figure in South Africa’s white-ball cricket teams. He has represented his country in 18 Tests, 68 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 50 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), amassing a total of 4626 runs across all formats. His tally includes six centuries and 29 half-centuries, underscoring his consistency and class as a batter.
In the T20 format, van der Dussen boasts extensive experience, having played 211 matches. During these outings, he has accumulated 6075 runs at an impressive strike rate of 131.86, including five centuries and 39 fifties, showcasing his ability to dominate in the shortest form of the game.
Van der Dussen is no stranger to the PSL, having made appearances in the tournament previously. In the 2023 and 2024 editions, he represented Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars, respectively.
His PSL record has been equally remarkable, with 512 runs in 13 innings, averaging 46.54 and striking at 145.86. He has also notched up one century and three half-centuries in the league, cementing his reputation as a reliable performer in the PSL.
Van der Dussen becomes the third South African player and the 20th international star to register for the PSL 10 draft, which is set to be held in the scenic Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025. This will be the first time Gwadar hosts the prestigious event, adding to the excitement surrounding the league's milestone season.
Other notable foreign players who have signed up for the draft include Matthew Short, Gudakesh Motie, Alex Hales, Luke Wood, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja, Corbin Bosh, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Munro, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Curran, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, and Sikandar Raza.
With an impressive roster of players, PSL 10 promises to be another thrilling chapter in the league’s growing legacy.
