1983 World Cup-Winning Squad Offer Help To Kambli
After Kambli's health struggles became public during the event earlier this month, India's 1983 World Cup-winning squad offered assistance to Kambli. Both Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar spoke about their willingness to help Kambli but put a condition that he would have to enter rehabilitation.
In a recent interaction, Kambli opened up on his health struggles and revealed he was struggling with a urine problem and was admitted to a hospital one month ago too.
“I was suffering from a urine problem. It was just flowing. My son, Jesus Cristiano, picked me up and brought me back to my feet. My daughter, who is 10 years old, and my wife came to help me. This happened one month ago. My head started spinning; I collapsed and fell down. The doctor told me to get admitted," said Kambli in an interaction on Vicky Lalwani's YouTube channel.
Kambli also claimed that he underwent two heart surgeries in 2013 and Sachin Tendulkar gave him financial help during the process.
Kambli played a total of 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India in a career that lasted nine years. He made four centuries in Test cricket for India, including two double centuries. He was the first Indian to score back-to-back double centuries.
