Arjun Tendulkar shone for Goa in their first game of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and scalped 3 wickets against Odisha. The left-arm pacer bowled a brilliant spell of 10-0-61-3 in a high-scoring game. Arjun took his first wicket in the 41st over by dismissing Abhishek Raut for 7. He got the prized scalp of Kartik Biswali (49 off 52) in the next over.
Arjun bowled Rajesh Mohanty for 6 to scalp his third wicket of the day. Courtesy of Arjun's three-fer, Goa bowled out Odisha for 344 to win the game by 27 runs. Arjun struggled in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and was dropped from Goa's squad.
Talking of the Goa-Odisha game, the Darshan Misal-led side registered a big total of 371 after being asked to bat first. Ishan Gadekar top-scored for Goa and smashed 93 off 96 balls. Suyash Prabhudessai gave a brilliant finishing touch to Goa's score and remained unbeaten on 74 off just 22 balls.
Odisha were off to a brilliant start in the big chase and their openers added 107 runs for the first wicket. Odisha started losing wickets regularly after they lost the wicket of Gourav Choudhury and there was no looking back for Goa after that. Goa will face Haryana in their next league stage match on Monday (December 23).
Arjun to play for Mumbai Indians again
Arjun Tendulkar will once again play for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL. The left-arm pacer rejoined the five-time IPL Champions in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. The 25-year-old went unsold in the second accelerated round.
MI finally bid for Arjun in the final few minutes of the auction to acquire his services at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Arjun has been part of MI since IPL 2021. He made his IPL debut in 2023 and has played five matches since then.
