Brook made a knock of 317 as the visitors posted a huge total of 823 on the board, which is the fourth highest in Test cricket history.
The 25-year-old became only the sixth English cricketer in history to score a triple ton in Test cricket. He put up a 464-run partnership with Joe Root and, in process, set the world record for the highest fourth wicket partnership in Test cricket history. Root also made a double ton before being dismissed for 262 after a marthan knock.
Brook is also only the fifth player to score a triple century against Pakistan. He is the second quickest to hit a triple ton after Virender Sehwag (278 balls vs. South Africa, 2008). Brook reached the milestone in just 310 balls.
Harry Brook's Stunning Feat In Multan
Brook continued his brilliant record in Pakistan, where he has scored four centuries in as many matches. He already holds the record for the joint most centuries by an away batter in the country. Before the 317 in this match, Brook hit three tons during the Ben Stokes-led team's tour to the country in 2022. The English star batted five times in the country on the last tour and made knocks of 153, 87, 9, 117, and 111 respectively. Brook now has three centuries in three consecutive innings on Pakistani soil in Test cricket.
Brook has 785 runs in six innings at an average of 130.83 in Pakistan. The right-handed is the first and only player till date to average above 100 after scoring more than 500 runs in Pakistan in Test cricket history among players from both home and away teams. The Indian pair of Sanjay Manjrekar and Virender Sehwag averaged more than 90 in Pakistan.
